OREP members are invited to join Oregon Sierra Club's Beyond Coal Task Force at a critical PUC Hearing on the Boardman Coal Plant. On May 19th Sierra Club won a victory when Oregon's DEQ announced it would reject PGE's request to be exempt from pollution controls at the Boardman plant in exchange for closing in 2020, and that it would consider options for an earlier closing date. This summer the PUC will decide whether to invest over half a billion dollars in the aging coal plant and keep Boardman open until 2040. Oregon's clean energy future can only happen if we act to end Oregon's addiction to coal. This hearing is an opportunity to let the PUC know we want to move Beyond Coal!  By attending you can help ensure Oregon goes coal-free and invests in a clean energy future. Come early for a special pre-hearing briefing.

WHAT: Public Hearing to Decide Coal's Fate in Oregon

WHEN: Wednesday, June 23rd, 6:30 - 8:30 pm

WHERE: The Portland Building 1120 SW 5th Ave Portland OR (map)
