Memberships

Alliance for Renewable Energy
In November 2011 OREP became a member of the Alliance for Renewable Energy. ARE's mission "is to build support in North America for bold, proven, renewable energy policies that will rapidly increase our shift from fossil fuels to decentralized, clean, renewable energy. These policies call for 15-20 year contracts, with set rates and no limit on production, between all renewable energy producers and buyers." OREP is pleased to join the ARE Steering Committee.

Northwest Energy Coalition
In December 2011 OREP was pleased to become the newest member of the NWEC, a diverse network of consumer and environmental organizations, low-income advocates, energy efficiency and renewable energy businesses, and forward-thinking utilities. "NWEC for a clean and affordable energy future"

_______________

OREP's Vision for a sustainable, decentralized energy future:

  • Average Oregonians producing renewable energy and earning a reasonable return on their investment
  • Farmers, ranchers, tribes, and rural communities harnessing Oregon's abundant and varied renewable resources (wind, solar, biogas, micro-hydro, etc)
  • Solar thermal and photovoltaic panels on neighborhood homes, small businesses, houses of worship, and schools
  • Local lenders and community members financing renewable energy projects in urban and rural Oregon communities, re-circulating energy dollars close to home
  • Renewable energy industries flourishing under consistent funding that is not tied to tax policy
  • A sustainable economy with family-wage, energy jobs throughout the state
  • Widespread voter support for a renewable energy plan that citizens participate in and benefit from directly
